RE: Rear Kitchen TTs By Jayco and Others

We have a 2008 Feather 25f rear kitchen. It is our 5th TT. Love the layout.
With an Equalizer hitch it tows better than anything I’ve ever towed even better than our 5th wheel. Haven’t towed it far but on the interstate with some strong winds plus semi trucks passing me I could barely feel it.
I did buy the Sherline tongue scale and made sure I had enough tongue weight (12% to 13 %). Loaded heavy stuff under the bed and in the front storage area.

RE: Review: little tennis ball thing for hooking up

When my DW guides me, her hands are 4 feet apart to show how far back I have to go. They inch together until they are 3 feet apart then they suddenly clap together as the ball receiver of the TT hits my truck bumper about 3 inches to the side of the ball. I now am training my son to take over the job.
That's really funny! Thanks for the laugh.

RE: Jay feather wheel clearance

The clearance on my 2008 Feather 25F is 2 inches on curb side and about 1 7/8 on the slide side.
Basically Jayco said that should be enough clearance as long as my tires are not coming in contact with the fenders. They requested the dealer to take photos of the measurements to be put in my record in case I have a problem in the future. I did not want to take the TT all that way to the dealer so Jayco had me do the photos and email them in.

RE: What’s wheel lug nut size on 2008 Feather 25F?

The answer is above, 13/16
Duh! I sure wasn't thinking was I? I'm off to get a 13/16 socket.
Thanks Bucky Badger

RE: What’s wheel lug nut size on 2008 Feather 25F?

If they are 5 lug it should be 3/4" if it`s 6 lug it`s 13/16".
They are 5 lug. The 3/4" is too small and the 7/8 is a bit too large.
Is there something in between those 2 or could it be a metric size?
Thanks Dodge guy

What’s wheel lug nut size on 2008 Feather 25F?

I need to know what size socket to buy to check the torque on the wheel lugs on my 2008 Jayco Feather 25F.
Couldn't find it in all the info that came with the TT.

RE: Jayco fuse service bulletin

You received good advice. That 5 amp difference is not a lot, and unless you are a 12 volt hog while camping, maxing out the converter, you will be fine. In fact, I bet you have been using and enjoying your RV with that 25 amp fuse without incident, and you did not have a worry. Now you are worrying over something that was not even a problem before.
Thanks Wayne...I will take your advise and not worry.

RE: Jayco fuse service bulletin

Sheepherd:
When did you get the letter? I have the same trailer and have not been notified yet by Jayco. Does it apply or limit trailers by VIN or serail numbers? or does it apply to all 2008 25F's?
Thanks.
It's dated June 2008 but I didn't get it until a few weeks ago.
It just says 'certain' Jay Feather TTs plus Greyhawk & Melbourne motor homes are affected.
They have my serial number at the top of the letter. My dealer warranty person says that means that I do have the incorrect fuses. My converter is an Iota DLS 30 series M.

Jayco fuse service bulletin

Has anyone else received the service bulletin for the converter on some 2008 Feather TTs ?
It states that the converter has (2) 25amp fuses instead of the required 30 amp fuses.
I have the 2008 Feather 25F and the only fuses I can see when I take the front panel off are all 15 amp. Are there more fuses internally?
The dealer‘s warranty person said I have to bring it in to have the fuses replaced and a sticker put on the converter.
She said to go ahead with our trip because if it were critical it would be a recall not a service bulletin. However I’m a little leery of doing that. I would like to change them out myself.

RE: TT accident in NH

One fact that I learning at racing school was that proper seatbelts are necessary to control a vehicle effectively in extreme situations like racing or accident avoidance. Think about it - the steering wheel and pedals are to control the vehicle, not act as braces to hold yourself steady. If you are not held firmly in place in your seat you do not have as accurate control of your vehicle as you would otherwise.
Excellent point!
